WE REALLY NEED
YOU!!! We are only as strong as the
parental support we have. A small group
of dedicated parents can make a huge difference in our school. Please consider joining us, by attending
meetings you can learn more about what is going on in the school, as we have an
administrator present for each meeting, and you will have the opportunity to
help make decisions on how we support our students and teachers. We understand
everyone has jobs and lives that keep us busy, we ask that you consider how
powerful of an impact we can make if we simply ban together and support the
school our children spend 4 years in!
Any involvement you can provide would be appreciated.
Fundraising is
the key to our success. We have an
annual budget and therefore need to run fundraisers. Our largest fundraiser and community event is
Santa Saturday, where we host over 200 Winslow families in a wonderful
community event where the kids take a photo with Santa, complete crafts, have
their faces painted, etc. This is
completely run by the parents, teachers and students at our school. We also host other creative fundraisers
throughout the year.
Some of the
activities HSA sponsors includes, Freshman Orientation, Student Field Day,
Teacher Appreciation, Senior snow cones at graduation practice and Project
Graduation. Project Graduation is an
event hosted each year by the HSA where we send our graduating class of seniors
to a location for a drug and alcohol-free night of fun. Last year we are sent our kids to Dave and
Busters at the Gloucester Outlets for 4 hours of free games, DJ, dancing,
prizes and SO MUCH FOOD! We also provided
transportation to and from this event for free.
We only charge the students $10 to reserve their spots. The location of
the event may change throughout the years in accordance with the HSA’s budget
and costs. This is why fundraising is so
important.
We sincerely
hope that your student has the best year possible. Please know that you are not alone, and you
have the support in the HSA to help you get the information you need to be the
best advocate for your high school child.
Eagles Proud!!!
Sincerely,
Chantina
