WTHS Marching Band Accomplishments for Weekend of 10/18/19

WTHS Marching Band competed at the Chapter 1 Championships at Delsea Regional HS. The Band came in 2nd Place defeating Pennsauken HS, Pennsville HS and Central Regional HS in Group 2A.

WTHS Marching Band Accomplishments for Weekend of 10/18/19
On Friday evening, the WTHS Marching Band performed at the Homecoming Football game at the Winslow Township HS Stadium. The Band played in support of the Varsity Football Team and also performed during the pregame celebration.
On Saturday, the WTHS Marching Band competed at the N.J. State Championships at Washington Township HS. The Band came in 4th Place outscoring 10 other Group 2A Bands from N.J. They scored an 88.2.
On Sunday, the WTHS Marching Band competed at the Chapter 1 Championships at Delsea Regional HS. The Band came in 2nd Place defeating Pennsauken HS, Pennsville HS and Central Regional HS in Group 2A. They scored an 87.3 and won Best Color Guard for the 5th time this season. This is the 4th consecutive year that the Color Guard has won that award at the Chapter 1 Championships.
This year’s show is entitled Africa. We tell the story of our Family, the circle of strength founded on faith, joined in love, and kept by God. The Band performs This Land by Hans Zimmer and Africa by Robert W. Smith. The beginning Narration is read by Euginia Thompson. Musical and Visual soloists are Lilia Mandap, Dalyne Chea, Olivia Reinert, Niiua Clark, Alyssa Goldsboro, Naomi Ibidapo, Gene Embert, Jordan Jamieson, Honesty Wiggins, Bryanna Andrews and the WTHS Drum Line. Drum Majors are Dalyne Chea and Jay Thurman.
