Congratulations WTHS- TV Production program

"Studio 106", took home 3rd place at the NFL Films Competition

I am pleased to announce the results of this year's NFL Films High School Film Competition and NASTAS Mid-Atlantic Student Emmy results. Last night, Winslow Township High School's TV Production program, "Studio 106", took home 3rd place at the NFL Films Competition, missing 2nd place by only 1 point, for their documentary entitled "Underdog". The 3rd-place finish secured our TV Production program a $3,500.00 reward to advance technology in the classroom. The film competition gave students 3 weeks to create a compelling sports story.

Sophomore student and Technical Director, Marius Nguy, won the prestigious "Rising Star" Award for having the most influential impact on a production. Marius modified a computer to give it 6 terabytes of storage to handle the massive 4k resolution video files. He created a cloud-based workflow using Adobe Premiere Production and Google Drive that allowed our students to access project files remotely from home. Marius then created a step-by-step guide and ran training sessions using Google Meet, so crew members could learn the file management process and collaborate on the project at any time from any location. Marius made sure that every piece of equipment used during the production was prepared and working properly so the crew could always focus on the creative process without worry. With this honor, Marius took home a beautiful crystal-engraved trophy as well as a brand-new Apple Laptop valued at $2,300.00!

All Funds are provided by NFL Films through the Steve Sabol Foundation. We would like to take the time to thank Ms. Weston for all of her help with the set design of Underdog, as well as the entire I.T. Department for their constant help with all Studio 106 technical needs.

Our students won in the category of Best Sports Story for the documentary that was produced for last year's NFL Films Competition entitled "OUTSIDE THE LINES." This documentary provided an insightful glimpse into Winslow Township High School's legendary girls' track program, which is led by Coach Shawnnika Brown. The second category our students won was Best Commercial for the Studio 106 Ad entitled, "Where Legends Begin." This unique piece gives the audience an understanding of the educational environment and impact Studio 106 has had on 4 senior students that was a part of the program throughout their high school careers. 2026 Mid-Atlantic Student Emmy Ceremony <<
