CONGRATULATIONS to the Girls Track Team for an incredible performance at the New Balance Nationals in Boston! The ladies truly took the national stage by storm, competing against some of the best teams in the country. This weekend’s results were the culmination of an entire season of hard work, resilience, and dedication.
Thursday
Freshman Nwancha Ajaegebulemh kicked things off in the Freshman 400m, running a strong 1:01 in her national debut.
Friday
The 4x200 relay team of Amaya Jones, Jordyn Cato, Jahyra Jackson, and Skhye Seamon delivered a huge performance, dropping two seconds off their season’s best to run 1:42.3.
The trio of Amariah Arango (56.23), Cinniya Robinson (56.89) and Nylah Lovelace-Crump (58.54) competed in the 400 m.
The Sprint Medley Relay team of Olivia Okaro, Leeya Joseph, Cinniya Robinson, and Amariah Arango placed 8th overall, running a blazing 4:03.83 — the 5th fastest time in South Jersey history.
In the field events, Ma’Syiah Brawner soared to 18'0" in the Long Jump.
Saturday
Super sophomore Jasmine Jackson did the unthinkable, breaking the South Jersey 55m hurdles record twice in one day, showing poise and dominance on the national stage.
Ma’Syiah Brawner continued her outstanding weekend in the Triple Jump, leaping 38' 0.25".
Sunday
The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Jasmine Jackson, Ma’Syiah Brawner, Cinniya Robinson, and Justice Green placed 4th, competing among the nation’s elite.
In one of the most remarkable performances of the meet, Jasmine Jackson placed 2nd in the 55m hurdles, once again breaking her own South Jersey record. Her time now stands as the 3rd fastest in New Jersey history, the 18th fastest in U.S. scholastic history, and the 4th fastest ever by a U.S. sophomore. Even more impressively, her mark currently ranks as the 2nd fastest time in the world for athletes under 18.
The weekend ended in dramatic fashion with the 4x400 relay team of Amariah Arango (56.37), Cinniya Robinson (55.17), Olivia Okaro (56.70), and Jasmine Jackson (55.12), who broke their own South Jersey record and placed 3rd overall, running 3:43.3 while finishing as the top public school team in the race.
The second 4x400 relay team of Amaya Jones (1:00.4), Nylah Lovelace-Crump (57.20), Jordyn Cato (59.04), and Leeya Joseph (58.30) also delivered an outstanding performance, placing 15th while running 3:55.2, shattering their previous season’s best time of 3:59.
